We arrived this morning by boat in Palma de Majorca, Playa de Arenal in the Balearic Islands.

We are here for some R & R, which everyone needs on vacations like this one. We spent the entire day on the terrace by the pool at the Hotel Boreal. This hotel seems to no longer be there. A hotel by the same name but on a different street opened in 1970.
Our expenses for yesterday and today total $25.16. I am guessing that included yesterday's trip to Montserrat, food, and today's hotel.
I just remembered that when we were in Torremolinos I purchased a beach towel. Up until a few years ago, I still had it. I do not know what they use for dyes in Spain, but the color never faded. Amazing!
It’s true! You did need a vacation, a time where you slow the pace. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteA place I too enjoy relaxing in, and away from the touristy bits, there's a lot more of interest to see.
ReplyDeleteIf we went sightseeing it wouldn't have been rest, lol.
DeleteOut of idle curiosity, do you know how much the whole trip cost you?
ReplyDeleteI do not remember what the airfare costs. I do remember that the Eurail Pass was pretty cheap. I took $1200 in spending money. I'll tell you how much I still had when we get to the end.
DeleteWhat a beautiful beach! Glad you got a chance in between to relax a little. I can't believe how inexpensive your trip was.
ReplyDeleteThat was amazing about that towel not fading! Certainly would not see that happen these days where I think a lot of companies plan for planned obsolescence.

Never did get to the Balearic Islands, looks delightful
ReplyDeleteI'd love to visit Majorca! Judy was there about 30 years ago and had a wonderful experience camping there.
ReplyDeleteIt is the honeymoon island, so maybe you can have a second honeymoon there.
DeleteWhat a fun trip. I have missed making my blog rounds. I have to get back into it!
ReplyDeleteI get behind too. Especially with email notifications.
DeleteSitting at my desk right now, even though it is too hot outside, this scene looks so inviting. One always needs a time out during their vacation days
