A little after nine in the evening last Friday, I was walking through my living room and was amazed at the sunlight coming through the window. But how was that possible? The window faces east.
I grabbed the camera and went out on the deck to take these pictures of the eastern sky.
These two photos were taken within a minute of each other. The storm clouds to the north, seen below, were moving through.
Alas, we saw none of the rain in my neighborhood. Despite the forecasts, I did not get rain until early this morning. And it really poured down later this morning.
I am not an expert at all in matters relating to the sky, but my guess is that 'sunshine' was due to the moon rising. A neighbor said it was absolutely beautiful on Saturday night. I was too busy complaining to the Police Dept about two fireworks shows to notice.
I love these pictures and I know how dramatic it can be when the sun..or moon (??) hits the clouds. In your second picture, the darker cloud on the left hand side looks like a child praying
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the image. Didn't notice that.
DeleteThere was a beautiful moon last night. Sorry you are having problems with fireworks still!
ReplyDeleteThe storm clouds were moving in last night.
DeleteThat is a really cool looking sky. We've had some fun summer weather displays this season too.
ReplyDeleteYour photographs are amazing! Thank you for sharing.
