I opened the garage door and walked outside. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something on the porch and thought it was a package. You are not going to believe this!
I guess he was tired of lying on the wet grass. And no mother around. Should report her for child neglect.
OK, I know you are not a lover of deer but she/he is so cute and I hope the mama deer came back and retrieved her babe. I hope she was not abandoned
ReplyDeleteShe took off on her own after I took the pic. Headed for the park behind the house. I have to believe the mother left her here thinking she'd be safe. Cant imagine she wandered here alone. She looked newborn.
DeleteWhat a cute surprise. She looked very content there.

Yes, and I messed up her nap time.
DeleteHi Denise - I sure hope she's well and now back safely with her mother ... but yes - what a surprise ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI am sure Momma is around. Charlie had a thrill a few weeks ago when four deer came strolling through the neighbor's yard. Of course, he has them at his house too, but this was pretty close.
DeleteAs packages go that has to be the cutest!
ReplyDeleteKeith's Ramblings is but a click away!
Okay. Probably the cutest but I still prefer the ones from UPS.
DeleteLove it. I know you don't, but I would have been thrilled.
ReplyDeleteWell, I have seen so many deer, thrilled is not something I feel anymore. I used to have Mommas feeding their newborns in the back yard and herds sleeping there. That is why I now have the yard fenced.
DeleteWell, it's a sweet picture!
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteMaybe Mama thought, oh this human who plants all kinds of yummy plants for us to eat, she must be a kind person. Let me leave my cherished baby here while I run an errand. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLOL. Mamma must have heard that Charlie was vacationing this week and I was home alone, so....
DeleteWhen we lived in Wisconsin our neighbors had a close encounter with a deer in their garage. the deer panicked and banged up their car with her hooves something awful.
ReplyDeleteOne of my metal gates got ruined when a yearling tried to run through it, got stuck, finally wiggled his way out by bending the bars. That nice pathway I blogged about? Someone has been sleeping in it cause yesterday I saw all the columbine and forget-me-nots leveled. Just enough for a deer bed.
DeleteI can't think of a better home delivery than that.
