May the Force be With You

I went to the DIA today to see the Star Wars Costume Exhibit.  It was a family affair.  The exhibit is there until September 30 and if you have time this summer and are a Star Wars or fashion fan, I highly recommend it.  I hope to be able to go back and view it again.

Not wanting to overwhelm you with all of my photos I will just post a few at a time.  For starters:
Obi Wan Kenobi and Queen Amidala
I was just agog throughout the exhibit at the quality and intricacy of these fashions.  It seems hard to believe that the franchise has only won one Oscar for Best Costume.  I'll post the photos in the order they were taken and hope you enjoy them.

  2. Hm, don't remember Queen Amida, but her costume is really something. It is an interesting exhibition, wish I lived closer.

    1. Padme Amidala was married to Anakin Skywalker, AKA Darth Vader, and is the mother of Luke and Leia. Played by Natalie Portman, she first appeared in 1999 in The Phantom Menace. There will be several more of her costumes coming up.

    1. This is it's last stop. You would have had to travel to Denver to see it before it came here. I remember traveling to Toledo several years ago to see the first exhibit of the costumes. This has so much more is and way nicer.

  4. I went backwards reading these posts. I hope it comes to Toronto. I am not a fan of Queen Armadillo's( :)) outfit here because of those yellow larva eggs at the bottom of the outfit
