  1. Oh my GOODNESS I love your daylilies! I have to fight the deer for every blossom on mine, so I'm very envious of your prolific blooms of varieties that are plain and simple deer candy in my yard! So lovely! And I love the photos of your patio walkway and your East beds... so lush and full. Wow, great job! Thanks so much for sharing! -Jenny www.harmonyhillshomeandgarden.com

    1. Deeo - truly a four-letter word. Last year most of the daylilies were moved to the back fenced area. This year the rest of them made the trip. Just visited my son's home this morning and the deer ate all of the Fragrant daylilies I planted there. Thinking of switching them out for 'Blue Umbrellas 'like. I hate deer, can you tell?

  2. Funny really, much as I enjoy blooms of all kinds, I didn't know much about them. I visited a friend's apartment the other day and in the gardens there were all kinds of hostas including the ventricosa and blue umbrellas which I recognised although couldn't name other than hosta. I wouldn't have known that much if it weren't for you Denise. I very much enjoy your pictures of Your garden. By the way we have/had a few hostas around our building but things are a bit out of whack because of all the balcony construction so don't really get to enjoy them much this year.

    1. Well, I am still battling the deer and pretty soon I'll have nothing blooming in my front yard except sage, which they hate. For now at least.

    1. Thanks. It is all due to 'selective photography'.

  4. Knock on wood, we are (not yet) plagued by deer. But I suspect it's a matter of time. And just think - you keep tags! You know what your plants are! Lovely garden pix; my favorite was the Green Flutter. Our local botanical garden has quite the display of day lilies and I've never seen it there. I wonder why (too small?) 1. Green flutter is a shorter variety which makes it great for borders. It also multiplies like crazy. My deer problem started about 20 years ago and keeps getting worse. This year nothing has kept them away.

  5. Very nice. I always cut the blooms off my hostas before they flower. I just don't care for the look of them!

    1. I have deer that do that for me. Some hostages have very pretty blooms, especially the fragrant ones. I keep those in the fenced area.
