Recovering

The very last thing I need is to get sick the week before a holiday dinner - which is just what happened.

Last Tuesday I got hit with what felt like a Mack truck going 80 on the freeway.  I was fine one minute and completely wiped out the next.  To all of you who visited and left a comment on my blog for the A to Z Reveal, I have yet to even read all of them, let alone respond.  Thank you.

Fortunately, I had completed all of my shopping for Easter dinner on the prior weekend or we would have been eating pizza.  I mention this because the pork roast I made was fantastic and the recipe from Food and Wine can be found here.  It was moist and very flavorful.

We had glorious weather and trooped outside to join Charlie with his newly acquired (thanks to my sister in turquoise below) sidewalk chalk.  What better way to spend an afternoon?

It rained overnight and all the art work disappeared, but I am sure it will be recreated many times over the coming months.  We also discovered that chalk is very messy which required a wardrobe change.  Unfortunately, the only clothes for Charlie that were here was a pair of pajamas, so he had to wear one of his father's old outfits (yes, I saved a few things).  He wasn't happy with the short pants, lol, but we all thought he looked so cute.

  1. I remember the fun days of chalk, and the fun my son (now grown) had with it. I'm sorry you got sick - happy that you are recovering in time for A to Z to (almost) begin. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  2. I am glad you recovered enough to do your dinner after all Denise. I don't remember sidewalk chalk other than doing hopscotch squares.

    1. Yes, He is cute and I am prejudiced, of course. The 'yuckies' have gone around our house three times this season. I think it is due to the mild weather.

  4. I hope you are feeling better. It sucks to get so I'll no matter what the date but it seems like you still had a great Easter. Your grandson is so cute and how I wish I had chalk like that when I was little.

    1. I still have the cough, which now could be due to nasal drainage from my allergies. All I had as a kid was that skinny chalk that broke. This stuff is really cool.

    1. While I visited several new blogs, I missed going down the list, so I'll be real busy during the challenge.
