Though sometimes the 'Golden Years' seem more like tarnished brass, they are not the end of adventure. I invite you to follow me as I enjoy my days as a full-time life observer. I'll cover life, travel, food, gardening, whatever crosses my path.
The other day I posted a picture of my home from 40 years ago. I went out this weekend and took a picture trying to line up the shot to show the same angle. Here is the then and now.
I like the look today better than that of yore. I cannot imagine living anywhere so long. Mind you I am coming up to 15 years where we are now. For me that's a record.
This was to be our starter home. Guess it is a starter and finisher. A little crowded with three boys, but now it works for one old lady. Having a ranch style is great.
I love the before and after. One can see 70's in the first picture plus how small the birch tree was. Now with the beautiful updates you have done you have made it your own. I love the garden you made out front
Nice then and nice now! But I'm partial to now, as your trees have matured. I like trees and shade in a yard.
ReplyDeleteAnd all that sod we laid and then eventually tore out. I hated those original colors, but then it was my husband's choice, not mine.
DeleteNice pictures! I like the homey "farm house" look with the brick and wood, but the now picture is more modern. Very nice. :)
ReplyDeleteThe original did look like a farm house and this was farm country when I moved here. Now, not so much. Truly suburban.
DeleteWow, that's a lot of changes! My house probably looks pretty similar...or maybe not. It's over 112 years old.
ReplyDeleteWow. We have some old homes in this area. Last year we did an historic homes tour and I was a docent.

ReplyDeleteI even surprised myself with the change from 40 years ago. Now, I need to take a picture of the front yard.
