It's been five years since I started this blog. What started out as just a way to talk about my day, has turned into a mish-mosh of just about anything and everything.
Along the way I considered not blogging. Then decided I would continue.
I promised myself I would blog often, and then fell back and missed days at a time.
I ranted and griped. And then went into the kitchen and baked off my anger.
I've shared my travel adventures and my family get-togethers, my gardening and my cooking.
And whilst I did all those things, I found new blog friends to read and enjoy.
Had I been starting my blog today I would tell you that I put away all of my Christmas decorations. It took over four hours and my house looks infinitely bigger inside without all the Santas, trees, and garland.
For dinner I made lamb chops Genghis Khan based on the rack of lamb recipe from The Lark restaurant here in West Bloomfield. I was starving and ate more than I should have done. But I rationalized that by telling myself I had made a gazillion trips up and down the stairs putting all the decorations back in the basement. (I really need a dumbwaiter that I can load up which would eliminate carrying everything.)
I found time to watch some TV, do laundry, vacuum, play some Scrabble and now, blog. All in all a rather busy start to the New Year.
It is very cold here but at least it isn't snowing. I attribute that to my buying a new snow-blower and also hiring someone to clean the heavy snows from my drive.
Tomorrow I have a yoga class and have absolutely nothing else planned. I may just totally relax over the next few days before I start baby-sitting again.
Oh, maybe I'll try to find something to blog about.
I can't remember when I started blogging, it was quite a while ago. Recipes were added later. Haven't taken our decorations down yet, 12th night. Right now not doing anything much, feeling sorry for myself, had a fall and tore my thigh muscle.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of your fall. I know how bad it feels to tear a muscle and you have every right to pamper yourself.
DeleteHappy blogaversary! My sixth is coming up in a few weeks. I sometimes think of stopping, but I really do enjoy it. When it stops being any fun I am sure it will let it fade out. Happy and healthy new year!
ReplyDeleteI am sure we will both know the the time is right to 'retire' the blog. Happy New Year! and keep up the interesting posts. I really enjoy seeing your pictures.
DeleteHappy blogaversary! I'm at just about a year and a half and have had the same ups and downs you write about. As long as it is enjoyable and (for the most part) not a burden, keep at it! I hope I'm still blogging in five years and I hope you are too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading. I am always looking to find interesting blogs to follow, but some of my favorite authors have quit blogging. It is a challenge sometimes and almost liking having another 'job'.
DeleteI'm so glad you decided to continue blogging. How else would I have met you, my friend from the other side of the world? It is a pleasure to read about what you describe as as mish-mosh of everything. Congratulations on the 5th anniversary of your blog. May there be many more!
ReplyDeleteThank you. You are such a beautiful writer and I enjoy your posts very much. Happy New Year to you and your family.
