I is for Interlaken, Switzerland

Sometimes, when you have to get from point A to point B you have to go through point I.  I is for Interlaken, Switzerland, which was on the way from St. Moritz to Lucerne, on day seven.

We have an Interlochen here in Michigan where my oldest attended summer band camp, so I was interested to see this town in Switzerland.

Nestled in the mountains, it is what you would expect a small mountain town to be.

But it is also situated between two lakes, Thun and Brienz, the latter seen here in this photo below.

No color adjustment on this photo, either.
And it is not everyday that you see a cow on a roof.

I visited a wood working shop while there, too, but the items for sale were too rich for my wallet.
All in all, a relaxing break from travel.

On my Bucket List:  India

  2. Interlaken looks stunning. A very different place to your bucket list visit of India, though both equally gorgeous, I'm sure. Was Interlaken very different to Interlochen, Michigan, too, I wonder?

    1. Interlochen, Michigan is an arts destination and a very quiet and serene place. Certainly not a tourist destination. And no mountains.

    1. I have a cousin who went to Geneva to work over 40 years ago. He now lives in Basel. He never came back and I can understand why.
