Bern on the Aare River

If you do crossword puzzles as much as I do, you have probably written the word 'Aare' many times.  Or, if you read Sherlock Holmes, this is the river of Reichenbach Falls. 

But perhaps you have just visited Bern, Switzerland and seen this glorious town on the Aare River.  I was there on a Sunday and the church bells were magnificent.  Here are some pictures of what many call the capital of Switzerland, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
