This is a city where you can shop till you drop, eat up a storm, and enjoy lavish entertainment.
I've only made three trips to Vegas. I am not a gambler. The draw for me is the architecture and the shows. I love walking down the strip and roaming through the hotels. I marvel at the re-creation of famous places. Ah, the hotels.
Think you are in Venice, Italy? No, you are at the Venetian. (L is for Lagoon)
In addition to big name performers and cozy piano bars, there are Cirque du Soleil shows. Definitely my all-time favorites. (L is for Love)
And the food. So many wonderful places to eat. (L is for L'Atelier)
And shop, if you enjoy that sort of thing. Just looking is a feast for the eyes. And if you are worn out from shopping and eating, you can visit the Canyon Ranch Spa. (O.K. I wasn't exactly worn-out, but any excuse for a relaxing massage will do.)
There are plenty of ways to spend your money in Las Vegas. Nearby is Red Rock Canyon for scenery and hiking. Vegas also serves as a starting point for tours to Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Been there, done that.
It's the kind of place where it would be hard to be bored. Unless you gamble away all your money. (L is for Loser)
L is also for Louisianna, Louvre Museum, Longwood Gardens, Los Angeles, and Lisbon, Portugal
I agree with you--about the architecture. The rest of Vegas, well I'm not such a fan.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Las Vegas since the 80's!! Ha I know a lot has changed since then of course. Just haven't been. I loved Ceasar's Palace at the time, was fun and I actually won some money there, and saw a lot of shows! www.sandysanderellasmusings.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThe last time I was in Vegas was in the early 90's. Would love to go back for a weekend!
ReplyDeletewow does sound like a fun trip :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go to Vegas, although I'd probably lose all my cash on the slot machines within the first hour! :-D
ReplyDeleteWe've only made it to the Las Vegas airport. My husband lost 50 cents on the airport slot and I won a one dollar so we were ahead. We didn't see much glamor only the very dry landscape where the streets of whole neighborhoods were laid out. Where would the water for those families come from!
ReplyDeleteOn one of my visits I visited with friends who retired out there. Water is a huge issue for them, but that is true in much of the southwest.
