Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

When I decided to sign up for 'Blogging from A to Z', I thought I would just do my entries on random topics.  I had started making a list with each day and letter.  And then I realized that it could be difficult to follow all these random ideas, but in a specific order.

So, I went online and read posts from last years bloggers.  Posts that were made at the end of the month.  They talked about doing posts ahead of time, a good idea.  But, many of them talked about following a theme, something I had dismissed.

Dismissed too quickly I think.  The more I considered it the more I realized that here was a chance to concentrate on one area on which I would not usually do a blog.  Since my blog deals with issues and topics that come up in retirement, there is not much chance of me talking about old books I've read, movies I've enjoyed (or not) in the past, or places I've been or have an attachment to.

So, there it is.  I am now going to follow a theme for the month of April.  My blogs will focus on places I have been or have a family connection to.

I sat here at the computer and started with the letter 'A'.  In just a few seconds I wrote down Agawa Canyon, Austria, Australia, Arizona, Acadia National Park ...  all the way to Zion Canyon, Zilwaukee Bridge, and Zagreb Airport.  Well, I hardly even had to think to come up with those.

Now I realize that the hard part will be deciding which place to blog about.  I'll try my best to find my pictures, but if not, thanks to Pinterest I'll be able to find photos and use them in the blog.

All this thinking about the ABCs, makes me remember Sesame Street when my kids were little.  If I were doing a children's blog this would be a good source of material.  Here is the A Team:

  1. I've been thinking of a theme, too. I'm going to do sights around New York and took my "G" picture this morning. I've got A, B and D photographed and am thinking about C. I never expected to think about this so much, and I'm liking it a lot.
