R is for Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Rothenburg on the Tauber River in Germany is just delightful.  What a wonderful little town.

It would be very easy to spend the day wandering around, eating pastries, buying Christmas ornaments, or just drinking coffee in a cafe, all of which I did on this trip.

My first view of the town on day 17 was of the North wall, for this a walled town.

And there are towers everywhere!  Even on the Rathaus, right.

The side of St. Jakob's Church and then leaving the town area and entering the park along the river (below), through the Burg Gate

Pictures can tell a much better story of the town than mere words.  Enjoy.

And wonderful iron signage and grills on the buildings.

And my Christmas ornament from Kathe Wohlfarht  hanging on my tree (I could have spent a small fortune in her shop).

On my Bucket List:  Russia
