The Start of the Summer Show

We did not get the rain that was forecasted.  I am sure someone did, but not me.  The sun is shining and the flowers have started their summer show.  Here is what opened this morning.
Peonies:
This is one my mother gave me 40 years ago.  It changes to a white before it dies.
Only one bloom opened today, but these remind me of fried eggs.
Iris 'Silence':
Lamium:
This grows wild all over the front area.
Ditch iris and ninebark:

This is May Night salvia.  I now have several varieties in the front garden since neither deer nor rabbits eat them.  Did you know that a female rabbit and her female offspring - assuming half of them are males - will produce 184,000,000,000 rabbits in seven years?  Calculation was done by someone at a university.
I promise I will not bore you with flowers every day - maybe every other day.

  1. A 40 year old bulb ... that is really something! What a great way to be remembered. Love that.

P.S. I'm never bored with flower photos!

    1. I haven't eaten rabbit in many years, but was out chasing one this morning. Even with sprayed repellent they still eat. Ugh!!!

  5. I love to eat rabbit LOL. Peonies in particular as such lovely flowers, I could never grow them in NC. Don't know why. That's one hell of a lot of rabbits.

  7. Beautiful flowers, especially your wild dead nettle - one of my favorites. I've had rabbit, both domesticated and wild - sorry to say they aren't a favorite. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

    1. It's also a favorite of rabbits which is why it has spread so much. Seeds in the droppings.
