Merchants with shops on the lower level lived in the middle and used the top floor for storage. If you look closely, you can see the pulleys up top for hauling goods. The shop on the left is a scooter rental.
I bought the cutest canal houses for my mantel. I'll post a pic when I get home. This city does have a fairy-tale feeling. Visited a beautiful home today and wondered why I wasn't born rich instead of gorgeous, lol.
This is so cool..is this in Amsterdam? I love it. We had our first fireworks weekend which my poor doggie suffered.
