One Bloomin' Season - Grasses and Berries

If you want to take pictures of berries, you have to be quick, else the birds get all of them.  This week it is just grasses and berries showing off.  All of the berries are on different species of viburnums.

"What are you lookin' at?"

Feather reed grass, Maiden grass, Zebra grass and Northern Sea Oats are blooming.

And a red rose is just showing off too:

The Michaelmas daisies are in bud, so they should be opening in a few weeks.

  1. Your garden is indeed a thing of beauty. My favourites are the blue ones.

    1. Those blue berries are on a shrub that I transplanted this spring. Now that it gets more sun it has finally bloomed and I am loving the blue berries too.

  2. Where I exercise walk, there are a lot of wild viburnums (upstate New York). I love seeing their berries, especially the blue ones that have a silvery like overlay. We have wild apples ripening, too, and wild grapes. Alas, soon, the snow will be flying and that will be the end of that. But until then.... Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

    1. It's really fun to wait until the berries ferment on the vine and the birds eat them. The birds actually will fall over, the sots.
