Dinosaurs A to Z

I am a big fan of the Dinosaur Train on PBS, a production of the Jim Henson Company.  I have learned so much about dinosaurs that I never knew when I was younger.  With over 1,500 dinosaurs identified already, I saw a news article this morning about a new dinosaur that has just been identified.  And I've also seen trailers for the new movie, Jurassic World.  Why they couldn't have created some big, intelligent herbivore dinosaur escapes me, but then I guess a large dino Peter Rabbit wouldn't have been as exciting.

When Jurassic Park came out, I went to see it on opening day.  A gentleman came in with some children and asked if they could sit in the row or would it be too disturbing when they yelled.  (obviously, that was back in a day when folks cared about such things)  I said 'go ahead'.  Frankly, I yelled louder than they did.  They mostly covered their eyes.

Now, watching Dino Train with my grandson (well, it is an excuse, lol), I am hooked.  I have thought about doing an A to Z Dinosaur for next year's challenge, but that will involve lots of research and not sure I have the time.  Maybe, maybe not.

But in the meantime, here is the A to Z song from one of the episodes:

  1. Yes I screamed in the theatre-it doesn't take much for me to do that. This last remake...I'm not so sure about this one especially that he is on a bike driving with the raptors. Ummmmm, OK. Of course the T Rex is one bad dinosaur. I think, knowing that the park had major issues before, I would not be going there ever. I rather take the ABC Dinosaurs.

    1. I am sure it will be a real hoot - or a loud yell. I'll probably not see it till it hits the DVD.

  2. Dunno I want to see another Jurassic thanks. Like the Dino train though. When we were in the Dominican we were shown the area they used to film the running raptors in Jurassic Park. Don't know if I screamed or not, probably. Matt reckons he still has the finger nail marks from the time I saw the Godfather - the horse scene.

    1. I remember a friend of mine going to see "Wait Until Dark". During the really scary scene in the kitchen she threw her popcorn container into the air all over everyone around her.

  3. My husband has loved dinosaurs from an early age. He's eager to see the latest Jurassic Park movie. As for me - not so much, although I found some humor (I must be strange) in the first one. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

    1. If the Dinosaur Train was around thirty-odd years ago when my kids were watching TV, I would have been hooked back then. I never knew that all birds today descended from dinosaurs.

    2. Now that I did know. Not sure why I knew it, but know it I did. LOL
