Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

Wow.  I haven't blogged in ages.  But now I am back, though I cannot guarantee I will blog any more often.  And no, I was not off buying a pig, I just thought the nursery rhyme reference was cute.

I was, in fact, in Russia, Finland and Estonia.  I had a marvelous time.  Growing up in the Cold War days of the 1950's, I never dreamed that someday I would walk in Red Square or visit the Kremlin.

My plan is to use the trip as my 2015 A to Z challenge theme as I did with my 2013 trip to Europe.  It just may take me that long to sort out all my pictures.

The big surprise of the trip was the beauty of Tallinn, Estonia.  The big disappointment was the traffic conditions in Russia.  I thought last year's traffic in Germany was bad.  This was far worse.  I wouldn't be surprised if I had spent a full day sitting in traffic on the roads if I added up each traffic jam.  I will say that they waste no money on orange barrels.  And there were no folks just standing around directing traffic on the highway.  The cars just kept rolling along.

And travelling by car with only three other tourists was a real treat.  I am definitely spoiled now.

My pictures are still in the camera, but I promise some scenery views soon.  For now, I am thinking about all of the yard work that needs to get done and looking forward to spending time with my grandson.  I really missed him.  My daughter-in-law sent this picture while I was away:

Yes, I know.  He is so-o-o-o cute.

    1. I was so thrilled to see him in the car when my son picked me up at the airport. He has grown so much in two short weeks.

  2. Nice to see you posting. I enjoyed seeing Tallinn, too. I knew nothing about it before I went there and was very impressed. I also liked Helsinki very much, too. Your grandson is a cutie.
