I am only guessing here, but I think that when you ask folks to tell you what they know about Switzerland, the Alps might be one of their top answers. Others might be money and Swiss army knives.
The Alps go right across the landscapes of Switzerland, France, Liechtenstein, Italy, Austria and Germany. I visited each of these countries on the trip I will be blogging about this month. (They also go into Slovenia, but I did not.)

While some of my favorite vacations have involved mountains, I think I am now almost 'mountained out'. But I am definitely a mountain person, not a beach person. The only mountain range I have missed visiting in the USA is the Alleghenies.
Here I am in Zermatt, at the start of the trip to the top. Alps - Zermatt - A to Z.
The Matterhorn:
What a view:
We were pretty high in the sky:
Living below the peaks in Zermatt:
Zermatt was day four of my trip.
Each of my posts this month will have a country or large city in country that I want to visit. It will be titled 'On my Bucket List''.
A is for Argentina
Beautiful views. Looking at the pics, my first thought was, I don't think I could live in the mountains like that. Then it occured to me I'm being ridiculous because I live in a valley surrounded by mountains. One of the towns is even called Rustenburg (Rest between the mountains). But they are not as majestic as this:-)

Damaria, Thanks for the comment.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pix Denise. Hubby has been, never have. He talks about the cleanliness and the cheese. Also the glacier pub
ReplyDeleteOh, Denise! You won me over with this theme. I first traveled to Switzerland as a junior in college, spending a year in Fribourg. Loved it so much I've been back countless times, and even wrote a trilogy (the Chocolate Series) set partially in Switzerland. Lovely post!
ReplyDeleteWow, is that beautiful! When can I leave? Happy A to Z first day!
ReplyDeleteThe Alps are my idea of Switzerland too. Thank you for the lovely pictures. You are my window to the world.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful initial AtoZ post! Best wishes in life and blogging!
ReplyDeleteRegards
Jim
Nice Post. As to your lead - close: the Alps and Swiss banks is pretty much the extent of my knowledge. Never one of those places I wanted to go as I associate it with skiing which I don't do. ps. I've retired, too and loving it. iWrite, iBlog, iPaint,iCook, iParty, etc....

Thanks for your comment and now I am looking at all your entries as I love Germany and Switzerland and Austria. I love the Alps and feel at home there even though I am scared of heights
