Lest We Forget...

Arlington National Cemetery

Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery

Left, an eight meter high stone eagle on the Simplon Pass between Switzerland and Italy erected to remind people of World War II.

Below is the Lion Monument in Lucerne, Switzerland.  The monument was hewn in 1820-21 and commemorates the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution when the revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris.

  2. Wonderful tribute and I hope some people paid their respects. many use this as a time for starting summer and miss the point. Even though i am Canadian I hope many in the U.S. respect the day. Our remembrance Day should be made into an official holiday
