That's a good thing, IMO. Takes it out of the hands of criminals. Medical marijuana helps a lot of people in chronic pain and also relieves the nausea of chemotherapy. We live on a six acre open park that has a heavily wooded area behind the synagogue on the corner. One day a neighbor heard the water running outside and since they were all in the house they got curious. Her daughter watched one of the young kids take a container of water into the wooded area. Once he left, she went out to see where he had gone with the water. He had a fish tank in which he was growing pot. She called the police, they went and took the plants and left him a note to call if he wanted them back. Now, for the kicker: Should I be surprised when a few years later the father was sent to prison for writing prescriptions for controlled substances and selling them? Not a problem in good weather, but when it was cold or rainy they'd hang out in the hallway behind the gym, where there were a lot of doors that led out to the yard. Teachers generally avoided that hallway so they wouldn't have to tell the smokers to step outside. So of course some of the smokers didn't limit themselves to tobacco. My locker was in that hallway one year. In the late 70's we were hunting for some rural land in Arkansas for when my husband got out of the military. The real estate agent was showing us a nice plot of land. We were walking across a field and there were these plants spaced a few feet apart, maybe thigh high, each meticulously mulched and some white power (Sevin?) sprinkled on each one. Yup. Needless to say, we moved on and did not buy. I do have a funny story...when I was looking for a home for myself and my then husband, I was looking for a duplex or something like that because I knew my mom needed help financially so she would be having her own place but with me. Anyway, we went with our real estate agent into a home and the smell was so strong that I thought I would float out of there. I. Fact, the smoke was still hovering and I could see my mom's lip and nose move in disapproval so I told her to say nothing. We left and as we were walking to our car, the real estate agent was laughing saying she was high just coming from there. I asked my mom what she thought and she said...." I don't care much for this place and the people were not very clean because they didn't even have the decency of cleaning their dirty socks!" I thought the real estate agent was going to die from laughing. When I told my mom it was pot, she said she did not see any pots in there so when I told her it was marijuana, her response was...." But that's illegal!" Bless my momBirgithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09439720285857050428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2147049442316958074.post-86383048373300974192017-04-19T00:00:39.688-04:002017-04-19T00:00:39.688-04:00I live in a place where the stuff is (soon to be) ...I live in a place where the stuff is (soon to be) legal, and there are places I've biked past...well, given I was breathing, I'd have to say I inhaled!
