Although the apple crop wasn't that good this year, it is a wonderful thing, in bountiful years, to get many of the old fashioned variety. My faves for eating are Honeycrisp and Gala. Heirlooms like 20 oz and Northern Spy for baking. I've had SweeTango too, but it is very expensive here, compared to the usual local apples.
