Books 11 through 20 GAR

Anne of Green Gables - Oh, let's see.  I own the first two books in hardcover.  I have all the books on my Kindle.  I think I have seen every movie and TV show ever made about Anne.  And I have been to Prince Edward Island and visited Green Gables Heritage Place in Cavendish.  I did not read Anne as a young person, but found her in my 40's.  I love the stories and her spunk.  Reminds me of me.

Another Country - A book I've heard of but not read.

Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand's classic has probably shaped my thoughts more than any book I've ever read.  I have read it twice and it sits on my bookshelf.  I have given it a couple of votes on days when I felt generous and wasn't plunking.  Just who is John Galt?

Beloved - Another 'heard of, didn't read'.  Maybe I should just label this category HDR.

Bless Me, Ultima -  No clue.  NC

The Book Thief - Somehow I am very aware of this book but just have never gotten around to reading it.  For some reason I thought I had started it, but it does not show up in my library list.  It is on my TBR shelf.

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao - NC - no clue

Call of the Wild - I have not read any Jack London.  Years ago my then husband and I were rafting on the Rogue River in Oregon and the guide pointed out an area where he said Jack London had camped.  That is as close as I've gotten to his books.

Catch 22 - Not sure why it is that as much as I've heard about this book I have never gotten around to reading it.  And to be honest, I could not tell you one thing about it that I have ever heard.

The Catcher in the Rye - I read this book as a teenager.  To be perfectly honest I do not remember anything about the story at all.  I do remember being very wrapped up in the story when I read it.  There used to be a paperback around here somewhere from one of my son's high school days.

So, any favorites on this list?  Are you voting?

  1. Oh my gosh, I haven't read any of these! I'm not sure if I'll be voting or not. Time seems to be precious these days with what I do online so I might not get around to it.

  2. Catcher in the Rye is one of my favorites. I have read Anne but wasn't that excited by it. Isn't it funny how we all see things so differently!!

    1. Yes, it is. There are some bestsellers I could never get into.

  3. I wouldn't say any of these are favorites. I've read Oscar Wao, Catcher in the Rye, and Call of the Wild. All worth reading, but they are not favorites.
