My Winter Snowmageddon

It is snowing outside.  So what else is new?  Last year I think I used my snowblower three times all season.  Usually I just shoveled since there was so little accumulation.  Yesterday, I used it three times.  I took this photo this morning before it started snowing again.

It looks like three snowmen sat down to tea and melted.

I just came online and saw this article about more expected snow for Detroit and Chicago.  I am guessing I got around seven inches yesterday.  A neighbor heard that we have already had 42 inches of snow this season.  That's a lot of snow-blowing.

I have no need to leave my home today, so I may just wait until tomorrow to clean the drive.  The snow-blower will clear up to ten inches of snow.  If I get that much and wait to do it all at once, I will look like the abominable snowman when I am done.  Ah, winter in the Great Lakes region.  Lucky me.

  1. I just cleaned off my back porch so I could get to my bird feeder but it is misting something right now. I live not too far from Metro Airport and the reading was 9.2. We were supposed to go to soccer this am but not going to try. Only a few cars have gone by on my street and one had to back up a whole block. My great grandson is here and we will do monolopy junior and popcorn. Looking back on my calendar, in 2006 we were having a flood on the 17th, how about that! Hope you have a great day and even if we snowblow, where we gonna put it!!!

  2. I'm just thanking the weather deities that I don't live in Erie, PA. After our record snow season in Binghamton last year I'm hoping that we don't get a snowmageddon in March (as we did last year). Hang in there, Denise; spring is only three months away. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  3. Sorry to hear it, I'm not much of a snow person.

  4. We're getting your weather today, Denise, but fortunately it's all rain. Otherwise I'm sure we'd have at least a foot of snow.

    1. I once read that an inch of rain is a foot of snow? It's still snowing here.

  5. Our snow was more like a light mist although I think it snowed all day yesterday. The road I can see doesn't look too bad but the park is well covered. No need to go anywhere so I ain't.

  6. I feel for ya, kiddo. We usually get that here, too. But we've only had snow on the ground here in the valley three times this year. Less than four inches every time. We are SO going to be hurting for water this summer. I see burned lawns in our future in Utah.

  7. I feel your pain. I've got to bite the bullet and buy myself a snowblower.

    1. I am on number three. Not bad for being here 45 years.
