E - Euromast Tower, Rotterdam, Netherlands

Most of Rotterdam was closed on Pentecost Sunday when we arrived, but the Euromast Tower was open.  It provides some wonderful views of the city and harbor.  I also have some nice photos of the city which I should share in a post after the A to Z.

Do you enjoy ascending towers and buildings to get a better view?  Or are you afraid of heights?

  1. I like towers as long as I can forget I am connected to the ground :) In the CN tower in Toronto I really loved the glass floor, but my husband refused to set foot on it :D

    1. I chaperoned some young teens on a school trip to Toronto many years ago. One of the boys was afraid of heights, so we missed going up the tower.

  2. Can't tell you how many times I went to the top of the Empire State Building. It never gets old.

    1. I only went to the top once. And I forgot my camera. Duh!

  3. My overwhelming thought was how big the city was! Including the tower. They don't bother me. Only place ever bothered me was Bright Angel Point in the Grand Canyon!

    1. Grand Canyon was so much more than a big hole in the ground. I loved flying over it in a helicopter.

  4. Great pictures! I'm afraid of heights, so I don't usually go up towers, etc. The day lily is beautiful. I love them, but we don't have any since they're so poisonous to cats.

    1. I did not know that they were poisonous to cats. They have no deleterious effect on the deer who gobble them up.

  6. Very nice. Thank you. I do like ascending towers and buildings for a better View. One of my favorite experiences was the famous Arch in St. Louis....the Gateway to the Western Frontier for our pioneers traveling west.

  7. That's a really unique looking tower. I love going to the top of towers and buildings to get a view of the city. It's always fun to get that perspective on a destination. WeekendsInMaine

  8. So long as I don't have to climb steps. Tried that in a Lighthouse and couldn't climb very far. You certainly could see a lot from the tower. Never made it to Rotterdam. Loving the flowers too.

  9. Terrified of heights...I become a total freak, crying, shaking...I'm pathetic. I would never be up there so my hubby would go up and take the pics:)

  10. I am a strange combination; I am terrified of heights but I still can't help wanting the view from tall towers.
    Rotterdam is beautiful.
