And Then It Rained

Most evenings this is what the sky has looked like:

It is very pretty, but it does not mean rain.  And even when I have seen a red sky in the morning, we still didn't get rain.

But at 5:15 this morning I was awakened by a strange sound - not fireworks.  It was real honest to goodness rain.  Thank you rain gods.  My garden is very happy and I can at least skip watering today.

  4. So glad you finally got some rain. We got a little early Saturday, but we are in drought situation I think. If not yet, close to. Birgit said they banned private fireworks in her area (about an hour from me) because of the lack of rain. Didn't hear anything like that round here.

    1. Several communities around the state banned them but not where I live They even allowed a large show over the golf course across the road from me. They explained that 'fire trucks were standing by'. We sure don't want to piss off voters in an election year.

  6. Beautiful flowers! I wish we had more rain because it's so dry but, in our area, it has meant all ban of personal fireworks which I am happy about.

    1. We have had almost no rain (one morning in June) but we still had fireworks. The idiots down the block set up their rockets right behind their cars. What fools.
