One thing leads to another

I read a lot of books. Each Sunday I check the New York Times bestseller list. I read the book recommendations from my local library. I read book reviews online by bloggers I follow. Did I mention that I read a lot of books?

Recently I finished reading Alexander McCall Smith's latest novel 'The Revolving Door of Life'. In the book there's a mention of the Collyer brothers of New York. Never having heard of them I got my Kindle, went to Google, and looked them up. I found that there had been a book written called 'Ghosty Men' and I got my local library to get it for me. Reading the book I discovered that the author had penned another book about his own uncles called 'Unstrung Heroes'.

I found that a movie had been made based on the book. Since it was available on Hoopla, I downloaded it and watched it the other night. Having enjoyed the movie I decided that I now want to read the book 'Unstrung Heroes.'

Now it is quite likely I never would've read McCall Smith's book if I hadn't watched a series on HBO several years ago. That was 'The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency'. Having enjoyed the series so much, I decided to read all the books in the series.

So from watching television to reading books and watching movies to read more books they all get linked together and take up a lot of my life.  And did I say I read a lot of books?

  3. I often pick up book recommendations from other bloggers, but I have so many books on my Kindle I will probably never get to read them all. Even so I still raid the library constantly. I've heard of the play The Dazzle. I have no idea who the Collyer Bros. are, will have to Google.

    1. My list of books just keeps growing, but I am more likely to read the books from the library than what I have on my Kindle. Kindle books don't have to be returned, lol.

  4. I know just what you mean. I suffer from the same tendency. Kindle books don't have to be returned. There wouldn't be time enough otherwise.
