New Beauties in the Garden

Nothing like a little heat and sunshine to get the flowers bloomin'...

This clematis vine has started to bloom.  I've lost many of these plants over the years and have no idea why this one survives.

This is the first of many astilbe starting to flower.  I have them spread throughout the garden along with the hostas.

This is the coral knock-out rose.  It is doing wonderful after being pruned back this spring.

Of course, all is not going smoothly in the garden.  I found some deer damage on the Stella de Oro daylilies so I was out this morning covering everything with deer netting.  What a P.I.T.A.

I plan to photo all the flowers of my many hostas this year.  No one grows hostas for flowers, except for the fragrant ones, but some are rather pretty.  Here is the first to bloom on Hosta 'Inniswood.'

  1. I have a friend who took a Master Gardening class, she told me to plant Hostas, she felt I could handle them and she said they are hard to kill. I love my Hostas for that reason and they give my yard some life :)

  3. Lovely. Wish I had time to have a nice garden. Would have to give up work, genealogy or blogging. Can't see that happening in a hurry!
