Pension Information

While I have been retired for almost four years, I still continue to receive a lot of information that I subscribed to when I was working.  One of these newsletters is from Gabriel, Roeder, a firm that did the actuarial valuations for our pension funds.

I am providing the link to their latest release.  It has some very interesting information and several links to full reports on various pension items.

There is so much talk here in Michigan and elsewhere about cutting defined benefit pensions and retirement health care.  Everyone says the taxpayer can't afford it.  But when an elderly person has no income and goes on welfare and/or some other assistance, don't we taxpayers still pay for it, or is there some source of money I am not aware of?

  1. Thanks. I hope to join the government pension ranks soon and this is helpful.
